Podcast Test Drive: The Test Drive is a focused, hands-on session designed to help you experience podcasting with a professional setup. It’s perfect for recording a short episode or teaser, gaining confidence behind the mic, and creating polished content to use as a demo or promotional piece. The Test Drive is all about trying podcasting and walking away with a finished product. Podcast Lab: The Lab is a creative, experimental space where you can test ideas, explore formats, and refine your vision. It’s ideal for aspiring podcasters who are still discovering their niche, brainstorming content, or practicing their craft. The Lab emphasizes experimentation, collaboration, and feedback to help you develop a clear podcasting strategy. Do I need to prepare anything before the session? While we’ll provide guidance, it’s helpful to come with a general idea of your podcast topic or goals. To make the most of your session, we recommend: Reviewing the Podcast Lab Workbook: This will help you organize your ideas and structure your session. Submitting any pre-lab surveys: These help us understand your vision and tailor the session to your needs.
What is the Podcast Lab Workbook? It’s a custom guide to help you organize your thoughts, structure your episode, and plan your approach. You’ll receive it before your session to make the most of your time in the Lab.
What kind of experiments can I run during the session? You can test different podcast formats (interviews, solo episodes, panel discussions), experiment with your tone and delivery, and even try out various topics to see what resonates.
What equipment is available in the Lab? Our Lab is fully equipped with state-of-the-art microphones, cameras (if recording video), and recording software to ensure professional-quality results.
How does the workshop format work if I want to include a guest? The Lab is a collaborative workshop with multiple participants. If your experiment requires an in-person guest, they will need to purchase their own workshop ticket to join the session. For virtual guests, we can temporarily incorporate them into your experiment without the need for a ticket. Just let us know in advance so we can set up the necessary technology.
Can I include a virtual guest? Absolutely! Virtual guests can be seamlessly integrated into your recording. Just let us know beforehand, and we’ll provide the setup instructions. Virtual guests are temporarily incorporated into your experiment and do not require a workshop ticket, making it easy to test collaborative formats remotely.
What will I receive after my session? You’ll get a professionally edited test episode (audio or video, depending on your session) that’s ready to share or use as a foundation for your podcast launch.
How long does it take to receive my polished prototype? You’ll receive your edited content within 7 business days after your session.
Can I get additional edits or revisions? Yes, additional edits can be requested for an additional fee. We’ll discuss your needs before finalizing your content.
Can I customize the set or branding? Yes! Our Lab features a modern, minimalist, fully staged setup that can be tailored to your brand. Let us know your preferences, and we’ll incorporate subtle touches like props or colors to align with your vision.
What’s the difference between the Group Workshop and the Private Lab Session? Group Workshop: Collaborate with other aspiring podcasters, share ideas, and experiment in a creative, supportive environment. Private Lab Session: Get personalized 1:1 guidance and full control of your session to focus solely on your vision.
Do you offer hair, makeup, and styling services? While the Lab’s focus is on experimenting with podcast formats and ideas, we understand that some participants may want to look their best for the recording portion. Professional hair, makeup, and styling services are not recommended for the Lab but can be arranged for an additional fee if needed. Let us know when booking, and we’ll coordinate the details to ensure you’re camera-ready.
Is parking available at the studio? Yes, there is free parking available at our POWER UP Full Focus studio.
Can I book multiple Lab sessions? Absolutely! Every Lab session is unique, with different experiments, topics, and participants, providing new opportunities to learn and refine your podcasting craft. You’re welcome to attend as many Lab sessions as you’d like to continue experimenting and discovering what works best for you.
Can I use my test episode to launch my podcast? Absolutely! The test episode is fully polished and ready for publishing. It’s a great starting point for your podcasting journey.
Do you offer refunds or rescheduling? Rescheduling is allowed with at least 48 hours' notice. Refunds are not available, but we’ll work with you to accommodate changes.
Do I need to bring my own equipment? Nope! The Lab is fully equipped with everything you need for a professional recording.
Is the Lab beginner-friendly? Yes! Whether you’re completely new to podcasting or just need a creative boost, the Podcast Lab is designed to guide you every step of the way.
Do you offer virtual Lab sessions? Currently, all sessions are conducted in our studio for the best hands-on experience. However, we can integrate virtual guests if needed.
